Try charmbracelet's crush, found here: https://github.com/charmbracelet/crush Crush is pretty new, but getting better all the time. It's written in Go, so no node hijinks to get it working. It works fine with my ollama or llama-server localhost endpoints, and I've used it to make up a couple of internal projects without any issues. It does have internal telemetry and such (including updating its list of external models it can use) that can be turned off in the crush.json configuration file. If you're on a Mac, you can install via homebrew or use the more traditional route via Github.
“I like the terminal-based LLM tool, Crush. I find it handy in that I can pull it into any IDE and it works the same.”

My favourite agent crush[0] has lsp support for a while. I’ve not noticed the agent deciding to use it all that much. [0] https://github.com/charmbracelet/crush

I kinda like what crush is doing: https://github.com/charmbracelet/crush They're still lacking slash commands, sub agents etc (since they don't own their own model), but they do integrate language servers, which seems to be handy on larger codebases. Crush + GLM-4.6 is one of the three I use regularly along with Claude and Codex

…le how these alternatives work with deepseek models. For prototyping the web interface is OK, but I don't want to rely on javascript for anything that isn't sandboxed or an isolated lab environment. As someone who lives in the terminal the web interface doesn't feel as nice to use as things like aichat, crush, or antigravity-cli. I'll have to see if it handles remote ssh operations as well as antigravity. Some models seem to really struggle to remember where things are (locally vs. remotely) even though the context is recent. The one thing preventing me from self-hosting is the VRAM requirement for larger context sizes. I see that people comment elsewhere that they're unsure what gemini 3…
“Have you looked at Crush ( https://github.com/charmbracelet/crush )?”

> I think there's still space for another harness that's 1/ open-source, 2/ written in a fast compiled language (Rust, Go, etc.) and scriptable in a simple (aka non-JS) scripting language (Lua, etc.), 3/ less opinionated and more sensible so things like XDG isn't a WONTFIX. Have you looked at Crush ( https://github.com/charmbracelet/crush )? Written in Go, compiled binary, respects XDG (e.g. uses ~/.config/crush to store config), etc. No Lua scripting, but it includes a skill to manage its own configuration.

Thanks for the recommendation, I took a look and maybe you can answer a few questions that I couldn't find a clear answer when doing some quick searching. Regarding local models, can it use them? I found this discussion: https://github.com/charmbracelet/crush/discussions/775 I didn't appreciate the meow maintainer's attitude converting it into a discussion and ignoring the issue even to this day. "It does have internal telemetry and such (including updating its list of external models it can use) that can be turned off in the crush.json configuration file." Is there a page or guide which explains the telemetry and any internet connected settings? Forgot to add, I use Linux.
