Been using zmx for a few months and love it: https://github.com/neurosnap/zmx/ Very similar, based on libghostty
“I'm in the same boat and https://github.com/neurosnap/zmx has been working very well for me.”

I have just today discovered zmx [1] which is like tmux but I always hated the tmux terminal emulation and how it hijacks scrolling, especially on Termius on my phone. It does session persistence but I think without the terminal emulator side of things, so scrolling works normally. Been testing it today with Claude Code and it seems to work quite well switching between my laptop and phone. [1] https://github.com/neurosnap/zmx
“It's great because it allows me to replace tmux completely in all my ssh sessions, and can keep one session per assistant.”

Have you looked into zmx? [0] It doesn't have built-in notifications and there's no panel to see all the open sessions, but I wonder how hard that would be to add. I've used zmx since I ran into it a few weeks ago. Uses libghostty as well. It's great because it allows me to replace tmux completely in all my ssh sessions, and can keep one session per assistant. “Session persistence can be solved by zmx [1].”

…are the expectations. Like you though, I'd much prefer to use my terminal directly with the indirection of an additional multiplexer like herdr or tmux - lower latency, easier scrollback & copying. Session persistence can be solved by zmx [1]. Points 1 and 2 however are concerned with tracking the state of and navigating to parallel agents. I'm thinking about creating a TUI or SwiftUI app to handle those points in the way I like, but the challenge of integrating such an app with zmx and kitty to jump to the right panes both locally and over a devbox is a little daunting. Plus, I've found my devbox doesn't play too well with `ControlMaster auto` SSH config suggested by the zmx docs. [1] h…

Neat! I'm curious, did you consider building on top of https://github.com/neurosnap/zmx which also does attach/detach and uses libghostty?
